Hi All,
It's been about four years since my last visit to Arillas. What is the position regarding the cashing of traveler's cheques in the village? I know that there is now an A.T.M. but I prefer to use traveler's cheques as they are more secure. I don't like to have too much cash as it can be lost/stolen and prefer to cash a cheque when I need more money.
I used to use the supermarket on the front road, and Arillas Travel in the high street.
Only just over four weeks to go now, can't wait.
Yammas,
Martin.

Martin- absolutely no problem cashing travellers cheques in Arillas.  Olga's travel, Arillas Travel and Arkokal Travel all spring to mind and will give good rates.

When I say "good" of course I mean just about as good as you can get at the moment and certainly slightly better than you can get in the UK.  Still a fairly depressing exchange rate though!

Cheers Mrs. Egg!
Thought that was the case as nothing seems to alter in Arillas over the years. Just getting a bit 'jittery' as I will be traveling alone for the first time.

You must be one of the earliest visitors out there Martin, wished we were going then too.  Have a brilliant time!  You can always log on when you are out there to keep in touch with us all here.  Looking forward to your report!

Thanks Viv! I have some catching up to do with Poppy and her family. Hope to see you there at one of the evening get togethers. Will be at The Coconut on 6th. for the forum bash all being well. At the moment I am feeling excited/apprehensive as the date gets nearer. There seems so much to organise and do! Just be glad when I get there so that I can relax and enjoy myself.
Take care,
Martin.

Hi Gillian,

A one way ticket...at last...are you realising your dream of six months...or longer(!) in Arillas?  Are you testing the water....have you found your own place?  It's been so long since we have 'talked' to each other.

Hi gillian, I remember you from last year... well done on losing so much weight.  I have started AGAIN... lost a stone this time and got 3 to go.  Thinking about Arillas is making me more determined this year.  We gotta keep going girl!

3 months in Arillas would be lovely!

Well done on your hard work and determination to lose weight....hopefully it will be easier in Corfu with the fresh food and the incentive to walk in beautiful surroundings...helped by the good weather of course!

Always felt like a millionaire with Drachmas! Even better with Turkish pounds!
Still thats progress I suppose. As my son stated the other day, in Britain we 'spend a penny' everywhere else we euronate!
