HI can anyone tell me where the 3 bed apartment is situated at Kaloudis please? We stayed last year in a 2 bed apartment which was at the front overlooking some gardens. Just looking for next year and the 3 bed is cheaper than the 2 bed????
Ness
I think it's the big one on it's own overlooking the pool. Our friends stayed in it once and it's massive.
Thanks. Was it on ground level or upstairs?
only 58 days to go 4th time
It was up one flight of stairs and used to be only privately booked through Billy. Is that the one ?
Thomson have one as a package deal.
Ness I saw that myself but I wonder if they may charge a supplement if only 2 sharing
Our extended family stayed in the 3 bedroomed apartment on the ground floor which was through Thomsons 2 years ago.It was good value but the air conditioning charge to Kaloudis was per room per day although they did do a deal in the end.
There was as a 3 bedroomed apartment upstairs but that was only privately rentable.I think it had been some time ago Billy and his wifes living Quarters!
Anyway dont worry like all us regulars you will find somewhere suitable and have such a fantastic time that as usual you will never want to spend your precious relaxing time anywhere else.
Oliver.
Thanks for your replies. We are staying at Mathraki this year but stayed at Kaloudis last year so we are going to see which ones we prefer before we book for next year. There was 4 of us last year and only 2 this year but next year its back to 4!
Yes I only know about the one that is booked through Billy. Not sure where the other one is.
The 3 bed apartment is the one that is situated at the bottom of the large main block next to the pool and the bar. The entrance to the apartment is by the stairs next to which Billy parks his boat. We stayed in this apartment some years ago when there was only four of us and there is plenty of room in there.
We will be back in just under 4 weeks for our twentieth holiday holiday in Arrilas and all have been spent at Kaloudis.
Thanks for posting SPP. With all of your experience we are allthe richer to hear from you. Kaloudis village is a wonderful part of Arillas. We always visit in the summer.

As Kaloudis loyals it is good to see it being talked up!
To be honest we love it but it is just our base for enjoying everywhere else in Arillas.
I would not want anyone to think we are saying it is necessarily better than anywhere else.
It just happens to be the first place we stayed and we have always been happy there.
Oliver.
This year will be our fourth stay. We love it. We get such a good welcome, rooms are spotless and all the amenities are great.
We always have a good laugh with the housekeeping staff - even though we don`t speak each others` languages.
We are hoping for a room above the shop again but if not, no matter.
So, we are looking forward to seeing friendly faces again.

tenth or 11th time for us this year, does anyone remember billys horseracing nights?
Hi everyone - staying at the Kaloudis apartments next month (in a studio) but can't seem to find information regarding whether the studios have a safe deposit box on site, either in room or in reception? Thanks in advance for the help.
Hi yes there are safes in the rooms there is a small charge hope you have a lovely holiday we are due to stay at kaloudis again in september will be our third time staying there x
Yes, there are safes in the rooms. For me, though, I would be perfectly at ease if we didn`t use one at all. Some would say that`s foolhardy but it`s a measure of how I feel about our hosts and everyone one that works there. We do use it, for insurance purposes, though.
As usual, time cannot go by quickly enough - roll on August.

Absolutely agree. We have been staying at Kaloudis for the last nine years and have never felt any concerns about theft or indeed general security.
The people who work and stay there have always been great for us.
In case I am accused of bias I strongly suspect the same can be said for all venues in Arillas!
Oliver.
When I go to Spain I wear the only card I dare to take in my shoe and under my foot. When I go to Arillas I can leave my whole wallet, cards and all, in a bar when I'm drunk, and the next day I will walk past it and they will rush out and hand it back to me untouched. Such is the Corfiot culture.

Put so much better than I could!
I am truly sorry we will miss ourselves this year.
I do feel that you have introduced me to many forum regulars.
Especially when we discussed "whirling"!
Perhaps that thread will start again when the season gets busier.
For now I will just express my happiness at vicariously enjoying Arillas until it is my time.
Oliver.
Thank you for your replies, not long before we are enjoying Arillas. Rebecca x

I think its more a a Greek thing more than just an Arillas thing. That said you can never be 100% sure of not becoming a victim of theft no matter where you are. The British guy in the appartment next door could be a thief ......
Sad but so true
returning this year for 12th visit all at kaloudis very excited missed last year due to arrival of 8th grandchild so cant wait to see everybody! really miss arilla inn every year hoping to see it open but other eating places fab especially porto fino and SPIRO lovely food lovely place and lovely person. three weeks friday we will {all being well} afraid to tempt fate we will be there !!!!!!
I think we will be trying Arilla Inn and Portofino next week as last year we tended to walk the other way along the beach. We did have a drink in the bar at Marinaki (I think it was Marinaki, a small little bar on the seafront?) a couple of times when me and my Dad escaped the others for a light refreshment ! lol
Think you may find the service a little slow at the Arilla Inn.
Sorry Karl it's been closed a good few years. It's the one just past Alex supermarket with the vines growing inside. :(

Nice to hear another Portofino and Spiros fan!
When you go say hello from his Scottish friends and tell him we will see him on 23rd August.
Oliver.
Arilla Inn service will be VERY Slow then! Lol . I was looking at the Arillas Forum map earlier and it's on there so I just presumed it was still open. I might grab a can of Mythos and sit outside there and drink it so I can say I've had a drink there. . . . He he
have been coming to arillas since arilla inn was open and before leo started ammos would just like it returned to its former glory and lovely food always ordered oregano bread it was great. still just to be back will be a bonus roll on June 14th.
Shame about the Arilla Inn.Must be 10 years since it closed and it is in such a perfect position.I think someone told me it was a family dispute that caused it to close.Maybe other forum members know the real story.
They all seem to do well on the sea front so I am surprised no one has taken it on in that time .....
Business opportunity for one of the many people on here that would like to make a home in Arillas perhaps ?
The Arillas Inn was still open in 2006 but was closed by 2007. Unfortunately it can't be taken over as it's a family dispute so hopefully once it's settled it will re open. Until then Leo has made a brill job of Ammos and it's a lovely chilled out place to relax and watch the world go by.

It's a shame
I don't pretend to know why Arillas Inn closed, but have heard very many stories. All of what I have read here on forum of course, and a few from people actually there. I don't know what to believe.
It must be very attractive to folk who want to live there as a business (working through the season 24 hours a day) as Truth says. It could command a very good price if this happens.
But in the end, the future of Arillas and its micro-economy is much dearer to me, and I think it is time to make it another profitable attraction on the sea front. I don't care how or who, just when.

Its a bit of a pet hate of mine seeing tavernas/shops/hotels closed down , especially when they are in such a prime posotion to do well. I see this far too often in Anaxos (Lesvos) and its not nice.
Lets just hope somehow or someway it does open again , and soon ......
It is a real shame as that always used to be one of our faves but luckily we still get to have a natter to Leo at Ammos next door. I know it aint exactly Greek but their lasagne was ti die for and oregano bread. MMMMmmmm!
Never went in Ammos last year but its on next weeks "hit list" !
