Sunday walk on the Arillas Trail  9th June 2013

Today we made our second attempt for the Grand opening of the Arillas trail .
At 10:00 in the morning people started to arrive. A large number of locals and many visitors from the nearby resorts arrived on a minibus.
I did manage to put most of them together for a historical picture with Gravia island on the background. The picture was a great success for me... I was not going to walk today as I needed to go back to my taverna"  but, seeing all these familiar faces and the well-equipped visitors  with walking gear and plenty of water , I got the courage and went  towards the trail for one more time. It was a very pleasant walk. We met different people and had loads of fun with the people we knew from Arillas and the surrounding areas.
In the end there was much beer and souvlakis   offered at the premises of CORFU BEER Microbrewery We could get a large beer for 1 euro and small souvlakis for 1 euro each.  
It was a great day and everyone was so happy to have contributed on this.

What a beautiful picture of every different shape, size and form of Arilliac. Some years ago I would have been in it. Now I only watch. But I love to see it.

The opening of Arillas Trail will probably do more for our visitors than anything else the owners can do. Sunbeds and streetlights apart.....

Great picture and we will definitely do the walk when we are in Arillas at the end of August.
What will encourage more visitors?......Us!
All of us telling people personally or here on the forum or on other social media sites that all you clever people use that Arillas is THE place to visit.
Then when they do for the first time like us they will become not visitors but part time members of the most wonderful community.
