Friday 9th October 2009 beach view

http://www.arillas.com/forum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=207

The  view of arillas beach under perfect weather conditions  ( 26oC) The few lucky visitors who are having their holidays these days are enjoying the last of the best days of Corfu Summer 2009.
I must admit that the first days of October are the quietest  that I have observed over the last 15 years,
Never the less , there is more time for the beach for my family  as the water is still like a bath!!!

Have a good day everyone !

Thanks Dimitris it looks fab.  I'm too frightened to tempt fate by hoping that the weather holds for the next couple of weeks....

The last two Friday nights we have had storms, but today is just perfect - apart from the fact that I have to fly home tonight!!

Good luck Eileen and Sara - I hope the weather stays like this for you and anyone else taking a late break.

Great pic Dimitris, this might sound odd but it must feel very strange for you and your fellow Arillians that 1 minute there are hundreds of tourists and then come the end of October its only the locals that are left
I know it must be a welcome break and respite for you to do your own thing for a while but i guess next season will be around to all the hustle and bustle in a flash

A very very big      SIGH!

I wish I was there as well, its a lovely photo Dimitris and what about that lovely blue sky.

It would be interesting to know what the visitor figures were like for this year, compared with previous years. Maybe we should all make an effort to get new visitors. We have some Arillas virgins going with us next September and I am hoping to brainwash a few more people over the next few months.

I am sad to hear things are quiet just now. Entirely selfish because I want all the businesses to succeed and grow, to keep my Arillas alive.

I agree with you Terry. So few seem to know what a wonderful experience a holiday in Arillas provides. Downrated but up-priced by the tour operators, it gets very little attention until the punters arrive. But those who do often find what we all have and come back.

Talking it up helps, and I am guilty of that. Perhaps too much.

What a super picture, Dimitris.  It was good to see you and your family in September in the evening enjoying the beach and sea.  Your little boy will surely grow up with a great appreciation of what it is to live by the seaside.
My own childhood was spent at Cleethorpes, a seaside resort, with super sandy beach (but not such warm sea water).  If only everyone could grow up at the seaside.  At least most people would learn to swim at an early stage.
I also loved seeing Dimitris transporting little Spiros on his bike.  That's what my father used to do with me sitting on a little seat on the crossbar and footrests on the top of the front forks.
Perhaps I'm going too far down Nostalgia Lane.
Back to the present - just looking forward to being in Arillas again in September 2010.
