Have the storms been really bad since the weekend in & around Arillas? [I guess this is a question for Negg or Maggie] On another forum I've just read that someone recorded almost 3 inches of rain in just four hours last night or yesterday & someone else has predicted that there may be land slides.
It looks to be quite nice morning on the webcam at the moment.

Hi Sara

I was meaning to put a little posting on yesterday about the weather.

Overnight on Monday to late morning, I think, the rain never really took a break. We had around 60mm of rain recorded.
This was the veiw from our balcony, around 8 am Tuesday morning, whilst "enjoying" a temp of about 12 deg.

You know all about the amount of clay soil we have around here and it makes it diificult for any excess water to soak in. So certain areas of garden can quickly become a mini swimming pool.
This is one of our raised garden beds.

The only other place the water can go is off the land and on on the roads taking many mini stones and rocks with it and leaving a fair bit of water to plough through.
I've seen a few mini landslides but only one smaller tree that came down.

Arillas beach has vanished, but that's good news this time of year as the sea does take away a lot of unwanted kelp and other rubbish.

Some rain overnight but generally around 18 deg now and quite warm when the sun comes out. A bit chilly in the shade though.

Hopefully, the next few days will dry up the land a bit and we can get back to those garden duties.
I'll take a peek at your place tomorrow, when passing.

Cheers
Negg

Thank you for the update! I feel for your garden :(

Lets hope the sea will withdraw in the spring to give us the good beach back next summer.
Life is good ;)

Cheers Negg.

I know only too well - it has caused us so many problems. I expect my rose garden has slid down the slope - again!! Our builder was going to do something to the drain up on the road to divert the road water more effectively. Having heard about the heavy rain, I've just sent a subtle reminder.

Your poor garden - maybe you could try growing rice!

The following photo is our view on a grey, dismal & rainy day. I tried to capture the raindrops hitting the pool, but I'm afraid it hasn't really shown up

At least in Corfu do get nice bright days & blue skies in between the rainy days.

Here in Arillas we had another evening of thunder and lightening! Maybe it didn't reach Kavvadades! Beautiful day today though. Just come in from sitting outside, wearing our fleeces mind you.

Yesterday evening was fine here but we did hear a little noise in the background.

Sandy - Your track is fine and Villa is OK.
