" Owls Beak-Come Tree Time Champs "
Night Owl's last match, in the NTS Darts Winter League, saw them cement their 3rd season win beating Armourada 8-3 and finishing top of the league with 140 points (85% winning average)
But, it was a last match game where feathers were ruffled and scalps were taken by Armourada.
Night Owls, Nickos's unbeaten run of 14 from 14 singles came to an end when losing 2-1 to Armourada's Gary who also beat Owl's Makis 2-0. (Makis's only 2nd singles loss this Winter).
And.....Gary's team mate, Ann, beat Owl's Dimitris 2-1, (Only his fourth defeat in 16 games)
Final Points Totals:-
Night Owl -140
Three W's - 100
Armourada - 97
Armour Plated - 94
Owlettes - 35
Wild Women - 29.

The first and second rounds of the Team Knock outs have produced a coupla shocks.
Nickos, Dimitris and Makis (Owl) flew through to the final with 4-0 wins over Owlettes and Armour Plated and a 4-2 win over Three W's. In the top half of the draw,  But..... Gary,Roger and Senan took out the 3w's and Owls 2nd teams. - Twill be a good final.

The Round Robin, where the top 2 from each team played each other, was a very hard fought match.
In a three group tussle, Xrisanthos, (W's), beat Nickos 2-1, and with 2 other wins moved to the final. The second group winner , Gary, was joined by group 3 winner, Owl's Makis, who "dun the job" on Negg with a 2-0 final shoot out.
In the final, Makis and Gary found a very on form Xris who, beating both of them, took the winners trophy.

Xrisanthos maintained his form in the pairs K/O and, with Negg, moved to the semi finals beating last years winners Gary and Derek (Armourada) The pairs semi's now read:-
Makis & Nickos vs Bob & Jean
Xris & Negg vs Dimitris & Spiros
Hmmmmm! - 5 Owls , 2 Armours and a Three W's - Pick the bones from that!
The Ladies singles K/O bought together a small but well known group of "veterans" The final saw Armourada's Ann, (a league average of 67% on singles & pairs), beating Three W's Margerita, (2 x 180's and 8 singles wins during the season), by 2 games to 1.

The League singles gets under way next Wednesday and the draw could produce a few upsets. Gary (Armour) could be meeting Dimitris (Owl) in his semi final draw and Owl's Capt Bob stands a good chance of being there to meet him. The other semi could see Armours Doug playing, against........ ? - A choice of Nickos, Makis , Xris , Senan and Ann in that group.....
Who  Knows!. - There are others not mentioned who could change this prediction completely!.

" ANNE BYRNE'S & SINGES OWL'S FEATHERS"

Who remembers that old song "Ann-ie thing Yowl can do...........?"

The draw for the Singles K/O, in the NTS Darts, proved to be very favourable for the Owl boys and we should all be forgiven for thinking that, in both semi-finals, it would be an all Owl event. Armours Anne had something to say about that and duly despatched Owl's Makis, whilst Xrisanthos (W's) made Nickos (Owl) sit down early. W's "veteran", Doug, then sent Xris to share a table with Nickos after winning 2-0 with clinical double finishes. For the semi-final place it was Anne who sent Dougie away to join his pals at the table..
She will now meet Spiros(Owl) who won his 1-1 decider against Douglas (Armour) and Owl's Capt Bob, at the expense of Negg, meets Owl's Dimitris who beat  Pavlos (W's) and recorded a 156 out on his route to the semis.

So, will it be a "Rainbow/Owl Boys" final - Dimitris and Spiros?
Or..... will Capt Bob show his team how the game is played?
Or......will Anne just continue to "BYRNE" the opposition away?
