Jersey Steve's photo , guys, is the very appreciated award sponsored by Steve and John which one of us 5 will be fighting for. Steve and John wlll also be in the line up, this year, as "Wild Cards" which hopefully moves the points around a little, depending on draw. Should be fun and will be fun.

Glad you like, just for the record it's from Jersey Steve and jersey John, just so John is mentioned, good luck to all involved

Eggy

Apologies to the Jersey boys on my error in posting. I have now amended it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our second round took place, last night, at Nickoletos (Top of hill going towards Ag Stephanos)
Guest player was 12 year old Vasilis, mentioned a few times , last Summer.
He caused a few heart tremors with the Nomads, just losing out 2-1 to Pete, then beating Doug by 2-1 and then just missing the all important double against league leader Dave losing 2-1 again.
Consolation was he has the highest shot out with 90, finishing on the bull.
Once again the draw plays an important part in this league with bonus points going to the team trio who win on the night. The combination of Dave , Doug and Pete beat Negg , Andy , Vasilis 7 games to 2 which changes the league table yet again.
Top of the tree is Dave with 8 points and Doug sits on 6 points with Andy on 5. Pete trails just behind and Negg holds up all four.

Each match the top 2 players "Captain" each Team so Dave will be playing against Doug. A draw is made for who competes in their team. In 2 weeks time we are at Matts Bar Sidari and local player Bill will be the guest/wild card.

Cheers

" NOMAD Dave keeps 100% record"

The third Summer Challenge, for the Jersey Cup, took place at Matts Bar, in Sidari, last night.
Dave Gallagher, Sidari, kept his unbeaten record beating, guest "Sidari Bill", "Monkey Andy" & Doug.

Bringing in a bonus point for his Team, with a match result of 5-4 gives him a 5 point lead over Andy, Doug and "Hippo Pete"

Andy sits in 2nd spot and will meet Dave next week, at Sunset Bar. A draw is made to complete the 3 a-side Teams. Vassillis, from Nickolettos, will represent Sunset Bar. The luck of the draw will always play a crucial part in this "Summer Challenge"

In three matches, so far, Andy has recorded 2 x 180's and 19 scores of a 100+. A league total of 77 scores of 100+ have also been recorded..
Negg continues to be firmly rooted to the bottom of the table and, although can hit doubles, continues to be outscored, by consistent treble bashing,  and has very few shots at any doubles, at all.
( Both Dave and Pete share 50% of all merit scores recorded , with 22 each)

"Hippo Pete n Egg bow down to the King "

Nomad Guest , Vasillis again proved his 13 year old talents with 2-0 wins over Pete and Negg , at Sunset Bar , in match 4 of the Summer Darts challenge. He nearly made it 3 from 3 against Sea Monkey, Andy who just scraped through with a 2-1 win.

Dave's unbeaten record of 9 wins ended at Sunset, losing 2-0 to Andy and 2-1 against Negg.
The "Team Result" of 5-4 gives Dave and Doug the bonus points.
The bonus point for Doug now moves him back into 2nd spot and he will now face Dave in next weeks game at Armourada. Guest player will be our well known Arilliac "Jinksy"

A massive 41 scores of 100+ were recorded at Sunset, with Pete taking 10 of these and Andy taking 8.
125 scores of 100+ have been hit over 4 matches. Pete is currently merit leader on 29%.

" GRINGO hits a MEX "

Gringo aka Jinksy aka Chris J, hit a "mEximum" 180 to add to his other 11 scores of 100+ in the 5th round of the "Nomads" Summer darts challenge. His 2 wins from 3, over Dave and Pete, now moves Andy into 2nd spot with 11 wins from 15. The luck of the draw plays a major part in this league which still sees Dave G holding on to 1st place thanks to 4 Team bonus points.

Young Vassilis has again proved he can match whatever the "veterans" throw at him , with 2 wins from 3 against Pete and Dave but again losing 2-1 at the hands of Andy, after missing a possible winning double
(Handy Andy looks like he is becoming a Jinksy to Vassilis !!)

A total of 44 x 100+ scores were recorded in last nights match at Armourada with Dave taking 11 of these but losing all 3 of his games.

The next match planned for Three W's on the 22nd July will see Dave and Andy on opposite Teams so they have it all to play for.   Xrisanthos, Three W's , will be invited, to represent his Internet Bar.

" A Monkey on top of the tree "

A 2 point lead and a 78% win average is very 'andy for Sea Monkey Andy who won all 3 of his games, last night, at Tria Adelphia. Young Vasillis, Nickoletos, has quickly gone from "Guest Status" to become a serious part in this Summer darts challenge. His 3 wins, last night, brings him in on a 62% average.

Hippo Pete still leads the 100+ table with 25% of all merits recorded with Andy just behind on 24%.

The top 3 "Nomads" on the leader board are now:-
Andy Stewart - 16 points - 78%
Dave Gallagher - 14 points - 67%
Doug Reason - 12 points - 61%

The next round is planned for Three W's next Friday.

"Welsh Dragon singes Monkeys fur"

The big 2014 K/O, at Rainbow. attracted 16 of the best Summer local players with many players thinking about 2013 when Paniotis and Vasillis, both 12 years old, met in the final.
(In 2013 Paniotis ran out the winner)

Dart fingers trembled when they were drawn in at opposite ends of the draw. Other dart fingers trembled a little more when the 2 favourites were placed to possibly meet in the final.
Andy , Sea Monkeys Sidari, having won the last 7 local K/O's and the 2nd half of the Athens Pairs K/O, was up for it as was the other favourite Paul Davies who has various scalps of UK BDO players under wing.

The first rounds saw Andy take away the chances of local player Valantis (Captains Table) by 2-0, whilst  Paniotis struggled with a 2-1 win  over brother Yiannis.

Dimitris, (Or Jimmy Rainbow) , took a surprise scalp of Charles (Tria) with a 2-0, whilst Tria's Steve made light work of new comer Brachos, with another 2-0.

Stuart ( Rainbow ) practiced all afternoon for this K/O, but fell 2-0 tonight against Owl's  Capt Bob , who looked to be back with a vengeance, and taking no prisoners.

Stammatis ( Rainbow) looked very cool with a 2-0 over Colin, Sidari, who maybe regretted the chocolate cake he ate just before his game.

Paul Davies , meanwhile, tore many layers of skin from opponent John, winning 2-0.
(John admits to not playing for 6 months but will be back next year with his usual game)

Poor Vasillis met Night Owl's Makis and failure to hit his doubles cost him a 2-0 defeat.

The 2nd rounds saw Andy pull the limbs from Paniotis with a 2-0 so a repeat of these young guys meeting in the final went out of the window.

Tria Steve moved forward at the expense of Jimmy with better double hitting, whilst Capt Bob said a sad farewell to Stamatis. - Y'all come back now!

Paul and Makis had a good 'ole game and although Makis had chances the game went Pauls way.

The semi finals were all lined up and Tria Steve found Andy to hot too handle whilst Bob finally gave way to the power scoring of Paul Davies. ( Paul already with a 180 on the board , plus a 112 finish)

So , the Final as expected bought the top two together.

Fiirst leg , comfortably to Paul who took the second, courtesy of Andy who missed clinical doubles. Andy bounces back to take the third leg. The 4th leg was high scoring and "TV" style which saw Paul take out the double first. Final Result --- Paul 3 - Andy 1.

A super night and Paul will be back next year to do the double.

"Treble two for high scoring"

Even though, in last nights games, big trebles were hard to find there have been 222 scores of 100+ after 7 matches. Hippo Pete and Monkey Andy head the leader table holding  22% each of the total.
(Or two little ducks for a Hippo n Monkey!!)

Andy maintains his grip on the leading singles with an 80% average with Sidari Dave now chasing on a 66% mark. Doug hovers on 62% whilst crucial missed doubles, last night, by Young gun, Vasillis, knocks him back to a 56% win average, but still 60% on legs.

However, the race to be the first holder of the "Jersey Challenge Cup" is not over yet as there are 8 scheduled league matches still to play.

Rainbow is still on the fixtures and the "Jersey Boys" will, I am sure, have those tungsten's sharpened up and ready, to make their guest appearance for "Jimmy's Place". (Planned for mid August)

" Jersey John pulls wool over Eggy's eyes............. "
....... and wins 2-1, with the only consolation for Negg, notching a 19 dart 501 in the 2nd leg, to make the fastest leg recorded, this Summer.

Young Gun , Vasillis , however, unpicked John's Jersey, with a 2-1 win.
Vasillis it is said, could be the  "man", he's only 13, of the match with 3 wins from 3, taking Colin 2-0 and Doug 2-1, and recording 10 scores of 100+ in the process. The highest that evening.

Meanwhile that furry Sea Monkey sits comfortably on the top of the league tree with 27 points and an 85% win average. Dave hovers around a 68% and Vasillis continues to creep up the tree, now on 64%.

Hippo Pete takes a drop in the merits and now sits on 19% of the total scored. Dave holds 21% whilst "You know who" plays with his nuts and eats fruit, or is it the other way round?, on 22%

Dougie will not be happy with a 50% and will, I am sure, be back with a vengeance.

Our pal , Sidari Colin, goes back to the UK, next week, but should be satisfied with his 33% win average plus 11 merit scores in 12 games.

With Andy, on top of the tree, maybe a warning.... To much fruit and nuts and you just might........?
