In this case it comes to THREE W's who win the Winter League Darts after 5 years of trying.

A super steady consistent weekly performance gave them a healthy 7 point cushion.

Congratulations go out to Marvel , Kokalo and Meerkats who gave them a run for their title.

Special congrats go out to Meerkats who, although finished 4 from 4, kept the other Teams under pressure by taking valuable points away. The league would not have been the same without them!

Knock outs are now under way so keep on the edge of yer seats , people!

Congrats to Xrisanthos, Maragrita and the 3W team. Have really enjoyed reading the updates Neill. Now it's time for knockouts.... but will the ouzo knock you out before an arrow has been slung?

Bittersweet feelings that the winter league is over. Have enjoyed following it, but now the new season is in touching distance, I can forget about floods and winter and come alive again.

"Sea Monkeys , Andy Stewart, is Top Banana!"

Andy Stewart, owner of Sea Monkeys Beach Bar, Sidari, but representing Marvel in the League, has now secured, back to back wins in the Round Robin K/O. It was not without a scare though, as in his group, he had to face a 3 way, 1 leg, sudden death play off to reach the final. The other finalist was Negg who, with a little luck, coasted through with 2-0 , 2-1 ,and 2-1 wins.

For Andy there was no "monkey-ing" around in the final and with a maelstrom of high scores and good double finishing sent Negg "Off to Sea" without a paddle. An all Marvel Final so pop in there sometime and see the cup.

Also, if you are around Sidari anytime this Summer, pop into Sea Monkeys, Canal D'Amour end, and "SEA" Andy. Maybe tell him you've come all the way from the UK just for his autograph.

"Another Cup for the Three W shelf".......
.... this time with the super performance of Margarita and Spiros Tsoukalas in the mixed pairs K/O.

They did it the hard way having to beat favourites, Andy and Fiona, in a prelim and then had another 3 rounds to play. Good result and good darts plus good fun had by all.

Next week sees the start of the Team K/O's.

I am trying to get photos sorted of all players involved this Winter.
(You may then be able to put some of these extra names mentioned to faces.)

We were there for the darts AGM before the winter league started in November. What a meeting at Amourada; why aren't all meetings like that? Mezze for umpteen, beers, wines, ouzo, darts...

And we will be there in 3 weeks, after the end of the season. Sometime soon, I may just get to be there throughout and play but which team would have me? Viv is already earmarked for Meerkats - contracted, I understand! At least that would reduce the arguments.

Here's hoping, fingers crossed...
