Brindisi to Corfu

Just wondered if there is anyone out there who has caught the ferry from Brindisi to Corfu lately, if so what was it like etc?

we have only ever done Venice to Corfu as it is a lot longer drive down to Brindisi.

Hi Sammy,

We have done both the Brindisi and Bari crossing to Corfu with no problem at all.  Very inexpensive crossings but the cost of fuel plus the time involved cancels the benefit...in our opinion of course!

I'm assuming that you would be driving down but perhaps I'm wrong?  We flew to Rome for a few days then traveled to Brindisi by rail which again was no problem and fairly inexpensive.  It was fairly easy to find a train departure time which connected well with a ferry departure.

Thanks for all your comments, was thinking about flying to Italy then getting a ferry, I thought the less time on the ferry the better for me which is why I was thinking about Brindisi instead of Venice.  Since XL the flights have gone up a lot.  I fancied going to Corfu in the next week or so but can't really find any suitable flights

That sounds like a really adventurous way of travelling to Corfu Sammy - good for you.
We're quite interested in driving next year, but I'm really interested in other ways of getting to Corfu & finding out a bit more about it in general.

Hi Sammy there is a local train to either bari or brindisi the bari crossing takes 8hrs and brindisi takes 5hrs try logging on to aferry I have found them very helpful in the past. Good luck

Here is a link to the Italian Rail Network website.  We used it for our connections... http://www.trenitalia.com/trenitalia.html  (there's a link at the top of page to English pages)

We did one-way Easyjet to Rome.  A few days before we left for Rome I booked last minute return tickets to Corfu for £48 each but only used the return leg.  This saved the hassle of a long journey home.

Ryanair do London Stansted-Bari & Brindisi.  You could also do Ryanair Stansted-Ancona although it will involve another longer ferry crossing.
