They would have to kick me off the end of the jetty!

You are funny Dimitris! Hope all is well xxxx

Well done Dimitris!
A fantastic picture - I couldn't wait to see what you had done.
For me, it's not so much having to pay the taxi (€45 is worth every cent), more the time it takes to get from the airport to Arillas, especially if the drive is at night.

Bet the fares will go up on Easy Jet now.........

Excellent Dimitris - you've put yet another cheery smile on my face today. Even the sun popped out for 10 minutes here to have a smile. Won't last very long here though like it will out there.

Cheers

We are having to pay the 50 euros each way this time and convinced Mike its the best to to go.. its the only way really as we dont have transfers included and when we land at 10.00 p.m. it has got to be the only way to go!  I am getting excited just thinking about landing, the taxi ride and arriving... and we have 5 months to go yet!

only problem I can perceive is the uneven suntan with the shadow of the plane going overhead. Maybe the donut man may get some last minute sales? (Let's hope not)
Brilliant April Fools day

Ha ha, love the picture, Dimitri - was wondering what you would come up with this year!  ;)

The donut man would probably lob all the stale donuts he doesnt sell at the plane as it took off!

Agree blondegirl. The taxi is king. Our first package transfer after a night flight saw us unceremoniously dumped from a coach in Sidari (funny how we have always hated it there!) and waiting nearly an hour for a minibus to Arillas. It took 2.5 hours. Only 45 mins by taxi, really enjoyable ride and they add that much money to the package price anyway. Support the locals and book the taxi!

And hi Marika. Waiting for your pic of the planes taking off from Arillas! Bet you make them look better than they do at Gatwick!

all the best

Great photo Dimitris, I had a big surprise when I saw Easyjet taking off from Arillas airport! I think the terminal buildings must be an extension of Brouklis Taverna!
I think I prefer Arillas as it is, love todays 'pic of the day'. Looking forward to sitting on the bench looking at the sunsets for myself.

Martin.

Hi Philandjen,
What you describe is exactly what happened to us the last time my wife and I came to Arillas. The thought of 2.5 hours on the transfer coach and abandonment in Sidari  is enough to put anyone off! There were only four of us left and we thought we had been abandoned for good.
€50 isn't much for comfort peace of mind and quick transit without the 'grand tour' of all the other resorts.
The great thing is we all benefit, local taxi and us.
All the best,
Martin.
