Well good news was the doctor felt there was no reason for mam to come with us to Arillas bad news is because of her underlying medical conditions I am finding it hard to get insurance cover for her.

Never mind will keep looking although any advice would be appreciated. The problems that are stopping her haven't caused any health problems for at least 12 years although she takes regular medication.

Put all her conditions on the Saga website and they will insure her for £134 which is GREAT.

We are now booked, arrive on the 25th September for 1 week staying at the Nafsika. Thought the hard bit would be getting insurance for Mam but turned out getting a copy of her birth certificate was even harder, they had forgot to add her to the index at the front of the book so wouldn't accept that she existed ha ha ha. Well after numerous phone calls and having to pay for it twice we now have the copy, sending off for her passport Monday. She is so excited and is telling everyone she is going on holiday for the first time in almost 40yrs, no better place for her to go than Arillas.

My dad discovered today that his passport runs out in June. We are going to Arillas in April and we aren't sure what the regulations are in Europe for having extra time on your passport - I know some countries require six months. Anyway, he's decided to renew it and reckons another 10 year one should see him out. He's really excited because at 91 he gets his passport for free........I hope I'm still travelling at his age!
