Hi forum,

Thanks Phil for your encouragement.  We wont cancel it yet.  However,  dad was rushed into hospital yesterday a.m. lights flashing, roller coaster ride in the ambulance etc... we nearly lost him.... the hospital staff were so good, brilliant actually.  They never let on at the time how bad it was, they dont need us panicking do they.   Anyway, he rallied round and is comfortable but for how long we dont know.  Each day has its own anxiety and worry so we take it as it comes.  Unfortunately circumstances are that we are the closest relatives so it does fall on us at the moment and there is only so much responsibility we can lay on our "kids" laps who have been totally fantastic already.

Thanks everyone for letting me unburden all this, but I am resigned at the moment to not going away, if it happens that we can then that will be great.

Hi,everyone. I can now confirm we`ll be at Kaloudis next June 1st for a fortnight. I know it`s along way off, but the way time flies these days it we`ll be packing before we know it. Hope Kaloudis lives up to it`s reputation. This will be our fourth visit, but I think we`ll never tire of the place. Also looking forward to meeting some forum users. Flying from Gatwick at 0610 cos Bristol price was an extra £200 each. Allowing for the distance involved getting to the airport from South Wales, we`re still better off. How they justify the Bristol supplement,I`ll never know?

hi paul d, we had the same problem this year, we flew from gatwick the price was great, got a quote to fly from cardiff £300 extra each, from bristol £200 extra each, dont know what the carbon footprint was to drive up to gatwick and back, just imagine how many times a year tourists do this to save being ripped off from flying locally ,but i do know there is no justification in hiking up the price that much to fly from regional airports that are closer to home. Even with the cost of parking the car in an airport parking lot and the cost of the fuel up and back was a damn sight cheaper than local airports, sorry to harp on, cheers, chris
