Well done John and Dot. Jen and I spent our ruby wedding in Charlton Adam - a village not 5 miles from Baltonsborough - wishing we could have done it in Arillas. You must make it extra special this time - what a wonderful anniversary it will be in your favourite destination in the world!

We can't say when we are going next year - it may be Spring, it may be Autumn - it all depends on Jen's ops. But we will be there, come what may.

we are coming to gorgeous arrillas 29th august can anyone recommend a taxi firm please.

justphil

We highly recommend Spiros Corfu Taxi. Spiros has taken us to and from Bardis Sun Studios for the last five years (6 times both ways) and is absolutely brilliant. A bit cheaper than the rest and a good ride. The details are:
Spiros Corfu Taxi
Spiros Kostadis
Agros 49083, Tel: 0030 | 6946745650
website www.corfutaxi.net
email info@corfutaxi.net

Mention Phil and Jen / Bardis Studios when you book.

Going in May!! I'm going to see the fireflies! I've always wanted to see the fireflies.

We're staying at the Marina, our dates are pencilled in and we're now just waiting for Easyjet to release their flights before we can confirm. Ten days in May, a month in July, how lucky am I?

Not having been at this time of the year before we're hoping for walking weather, spring flowers and lazy days. It'll be good to see Arillas waking up for the season, to see how she looks at a different time of year.

Do you go at the end of May? What can we expect in comparison to a July visit?

patrickjohn

Hi Cypress - think you will enjoy your May visit.  I well remember my first May visit, especially the transfer from the airport to Sidari in a double decker bus.  It was late at night and as we went up the mountain, I suddenly became aware of little twinkling lights in the undergrowth at the side of the road.  Of course it was the fireflies and they continued to entertain us at our self catering apartment in Sidari.
It seems to me that May is only slightly different to later in the season as the weather can be a bit more variable.  One other point of note is that the olive trees will be in flower and giving off vast amounts of pollen, so if you get hay fever or similar take the usual precautions.   On the upside the spring flowers, as you say, will be at their best, especially the yellow broom.
Best wishes
Pat

Had my finger hovering over the commit button when the wife raised her concerns, during our 2016 visit We encountered piles of decaying rubbish in Arrilas /San Stef, can someone advise wether or not this matter has been resolved.

soniaP

Oh yes! It was sorted when we were there in July 2016.

Yes it was a strike by the refuse collectors, it took a few days to clear though.
