It would only take a 61 year old to think of that Terry!
How old next birthday?

A super day here in "Arillas today" - Even now at 6:45 pm we have a very nice 21 deg, in the shade, temp. It's very quiet but the big majority of the people chose their locations well and spent the afternoon on a pool sunbed or on the beach.
Me ? - I just 180 at the Rainbow - Boorrriiringgggg
Arillas is unwinding and still a good place to be - As Riggers n Sue will find out a'morrow.

We lost Phil n Denise yesterday as the plane beckoned them home. Good wishes to them both and a little reminder that next year's "acting roving reporters" post is still open. - ( EEG might apply for it though! )
Cheers All

ps - The ATM is now back online again.

Yep, I will gladly apply for the post most likely the first week of September 2009. Just have to wait a bit longer for the Easyjet to publish their next summers prices ;)

Thats what we are waiting for too EEG.. I keep checking but I think its a bit too soon.
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

We're planning to return for the Wine Festival, have booked the time off work but not the holiday yet.

martin-w

Hi!
When does the wine festival usually start? I would like to be there next year as it looks like a brilliant event in Arillas. I have always wanted to book at that end of the year. Now I am retired I can indulge myself!

blondegirl

It was on the 12/13th September this year, I think the year before I think it was the 16th, so seems to be about the 2nd week in September.
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

Unfortunately for us, it was cancelled last year when we would have been there at the right time!

Sounds like our luck!  :(

I remember that Lynn, it was something to do with the fire disaster in Greece and out of respect they cancelled it, was that right?
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

Yes, that was it, Sue.

Then this year we could only make it in May - September didn't work out.

Next year looks like being late June, early July - whether we could make it in September as well remains to be seen.

Never mind, I'm sure we'll get it right one year!

Arillas today , on a very laid back 17th October, has acheived average temps of 23/24 deg. Add that to a bit of a breeze on the beach and it has been to chilly for some but more than adequate for others.
The "for somes" enjoyed the time spent in Tavernas, Hotels and Bars for a relaxing time whilst the "others" still relaxed on the beach.

Coconut was still closed today, at 2:30 p.m. but Malibu was open with Yiorgos doing his bit to keep people happy. Costas on the Beach is now closed as well. - Shame!

But, if you're fishing for an evening meal then who cares what is open!

It's all to do with priorities I 'spose!

Riggers ( John n Sue ) here having a good time as is Vivian n Pete and I'm sure Mick and Mary ( M n M ) overtake me earlier!
(How Mary can run that fast, pushing a wheelchair, amazes me.!)

Rumour is that the weather will change a bit next week, but then, we are in the last 2 weeks of October. Shouldn't spoil anything for all you "newbies/returnies" though.
( Just bring yer darts in case of rain! )

Cheers
Negg
