Rain is being talked about mid next week.
Temp today ay 10:15 is 26 deg.

Arillas was a lot quieter today. Dimitris even "Shooed" me out of Brouklis at 3.15 because I was the last customer and he needed some prime time.
It's good to see him and Litsa getting some afternoon relaxing together now the August surge is petering out.

30 deg at 7pm. Exchange still at e1.461. Are people forgetting to update it I wonder?

Always ask before you change money as, the other day , one office who I cannot name put the wrong rate outside. Instead of 1.43 they put 1.34. Wonder why they got few takers?.
So If you see 1.64 don't get too excited.

Not wishing to seem 'clever' Eggy, but I'd be interested to know what thermometer you use to measure the temperature in Arillas?

I am currently working in a UKAS Accredited Laboratory where we measure, and calibrate, thermometers.

In the course of my work, I warm up mercury to its melting point, at one end of our scale, and cool down zinc to its freezing point at the other end.

Respectively -38.8344 and 419.5270 degrees C

At NPL in Teddington, I enjoyed being able to make use of the equipment.

I get concerned if my 'Reference Thermometer' shows a difference of +/- 0.003 degrees C to the 'Set-Point' of the 'Stirred Liquid Baths'.

I use these baths to calibrate thermometers, I create UKAS Calibration Certificates for them.

I'd like to know what thermometer you use, and if it has a Certificate? 

If I get a chance, I'll bring a meter with a readout resolution of 0.1 degrees C next week.

James - not a thermometer as such and therefore probably not nearly as exciting to your clearly scientific brain! 

We have something called an Oregon Scientific Wireless Weather Station which has an external sensor and an internal display.  Therefore as I type this I can tell you that the weather station is stating that the atmospheric pressure is 1008mb and steady, the external temperature is 28.3 and rising and the internal temperature is 26.6 and steady.  It also displays current humidity inside and outside(54% and 48% respectively), date, tme and phase of the moon.

It also displays a weather forecast.  I quote from the manual: "This product forecasts the next 12 to 24 hours of weather within a 30-50km radius with 70 to 75 percent accuracy".  Sadly however I can report that it has frequently predicted rain during the past few weeks so that accuracy rate appears highly optimistic!!

We live in hope however for the rain, whenever it comes!

When this topic started, I said that "Arillas Today" sounded like a newspaper. Do you realise that you now give us News, Weather Forecasts, Traffic News, Gardening Info and Entertainment.

Its great and we love it lots.
