Terry - thinking about booking Avdemon for my 50th but read on one review that a lot of the starters are salads. I note on the handwritten menu that there are 2 of the two items that can be seen.

Not really keen on salads. Would you recommend it?

K is for Kleftiko again from Vinceremos.  This time with the little bag open and you can see the gorgeous Kleftiko.

L is for the Lawrence Durrell statue in Corfu town. You touch his nose for luck.

The pomegranate (Punica granatum) is a fruit-bearing
The French term for pomegranate, is a grenade, has given its name to the military grenade

A lot of the starters are salads and they are quite expensive. I'm not keen on salads but I like Litsa's salads. For a 50th birthday it would be a great place to as the fish dishes are also very nice and the views of the sunset are stunning. My own personal choice for a special meal would be lunchtime at Agni Taverna http://taverna-agni.com/. It's quite a long drive but sitting so close to the sea with amazing food is a really special experience

Thanks Terry I am thinking Akrogiali at St Georgious for lunnch as live it there. As the sun sets early in September thinking that it will probably be dark by the time we eat in the evening so settng not too important as apposed to food. I do like authentic and wondering if Avdemon might be a bit modern for me. Decisions, decisions.n

Like the look of Taverna Agni Terry. Thanks.

Sorry everyone for hijacking this thread.

We went to Agni and although we only had breakfast I would agree that it's a beautiful spot. I think however yiannis and litsa's place would be just perfect but the only downside is that it's quite small. I'm also sure that they would be happy to liaise with you if you wanted a particular meal x

Jo -  when you refer to  Yiannis and Litsa's place is this  Avdemon? Sorry, just checking as don't know who owns it.
It doesn't matter about size as only 6 of us for the meal but then having a bash when get back to Bardis Sun Studios.
