Maggie

Looks like you use those book frequently, Eggy!

Gata

Eggy I thought you were learning ancient Greek when I seen your "Greek Language and People Book" I have the same book but a much newer version.  You must have had the book for a lot of years.

riggers

You must be very fluent with your Greek now Eggy.??

Eggy

Riggers - Fluent ? - Not really but picking up a little more every day. I can read much better due to watching bits of Greek TV.
( English Films with Greek subtitles seem a good way to learn )

Thet Greek Language and People book is about 15 years old and Hugo's Learn Greek in 3 months? - Well I bought that about 6 years ago and I've nearly got to the end!
Siga Siga as the Greeks say.

So... N (ni ) is for ντοματα (dthomata )

(there's an accent on the "α" but I can't seem to get that from the keyboard.

Gata and Marika, I think your Greek is a 1000 times better than mine, it takes me hours to translate and find suitable words that can be turned into photographs. Some lovely photos. I loved the dancing one Marika.

TerryW

Terry I know what you mean.  I have to think of a Greek word for the letter and my Greek vocabulary is very limited and gets worse the longer I'm away from Arillas.  Once I get a word I then have to find a photo that matches the word.  Its just about took up my whole weekend!!! But its been fun looking through my Arillas photos again.

O - ουρανός

Gata

Oops!! Ive jumped a letter it should have been the letter "ξ"before "O"

ξ - ξενοδοχος

Gata

I love this photo and its such a nice Greek word

π - πεταλούδα

justphil

Gata - we loved the πεταλούδα (even knew that one) it was so much better than the hairy ξενοδοχος (still don't know what that means...)

Was it you in the pic or your cat????

Phil, the word your looking for is hotel-keeper. Personally, I thought that photo was rather nice.lol.

Gata

PhilandJen - ξενοδοχος means Hotel Manager - I think! but don't quote me!!!!

Eggy - A lovely tree, is it in your garden?
