Thanks, sounds good

That is good but is there any commission to pay on top?

Theo

is 2% commission

example : 100 pounds with 1.44 the rate  you will get 141,12 euros.

That's very good.  Thomas Cook last night were offering 1.38 without commission.  I know where I will be changing my money!

Cheers

If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

Pete E

Whereabouts do you change your money?

Mike and Debbie

If you get foreign currency (Euro) travellers cheques do you still pay commission when you exchange for cash?

thanks

Are there many places that cash sterling travellers cheques in Arillas and, if so,do any offer better rates than others

Fiona

I have never taken traveller's cheques - we just take a few euros, together with sterling which we change when needed.  Arillas is so small that there is not a lot of competition.  I think you will find that the exchange rate is the same in most places that offer a currency service.  I have always got a better rate in Arillas than in the UK!!

Enjoy your holiday

Yes I could do to know what the rate is as I am flying out on the 4th Aug.  Last year for the first time we took all currency which we had changed commision-free in the UK.  In previous years we had always took travellers cheques but I started to begrudge paying comission every time I changed any. The thing is, if the rate is better in Arillas, by the time you have been charged comission, would you be saving that much? Any comments from financial wizzkids would be appreciated!!
