Hi Folks,

I'm visiting Arillas in late July and I'm wondering if there are any scooters to rent to explore the island?
I'm wondering how much the cost would be for a day rent?

Thanks!

Igor

Mentioning the subject of scooters - what do you guys think of them ?

I'm unsure after having it rammed down my throat by holiday reps for years that they are bad and never to go near them.

bigbadjon

what all the reps say lozicle, is dont get them from anyone they dont recommend..........

or they wont get their commission

from the ones i've seen in arillas they look ok

Spacestar

2 bigbadjon: tnx! That is just what I needed!!
I intend to rent one and make some "sightseeing" around the island.

2 lozicle: yes, I know what you mean.
I know there is a risk, but I rather rent it from someone reliable, like bigbajon said. That's why I'm asking before taking an action.

Some friends were also on Corfu (not in Arillas) renting a bike and they did not have any bad experience.

We'll see!

Thanks again and accept greetings from Slovenia!  :P

We hired the Peugeot Speedfight scooter from Arkokal Travel 2 years ago and had absolutely no problems at all.  They were very helpful and the scooter was in excellent condition. You are provided with crash helmets and a road map free along with a full tank of petrol which you must fully refill again before returning the scooter but we found it hardly used any fuel at all. I would recommend these guys if you are thinking about hiring one.

Lozicle

Hmmm.... what kind of costs are involved with scooter hire ?

You've made a valid point there bigbadjon !!

I'm still not sure I'd be too happy on a scooter though - it's scary enough being on the wrong side of the road in a car !

Greeting too from England to Slovenia Spacestar  !

Lozicle, if u check out that link in my previous post u will find a 4 wheel buggy  or a quad bike can be hired, maybe they would suit u and urs better?

only 5 more sleeps

Lozicle

Haha you've got him now ! He wants the buggy  :P

Maggie

We have hired scooters from arkokal travel twice and had no problems. If you watch the roads for potholes as you go along, and manage to avoid them, you should be fine. The bikes were in good nick, and didn't use much fuel. They're very reasonable cost wise, and if your careful you will have a great time. 8)

SORRY everyone, my post has nothing to do with anything, I just needed to write one more to get my silver medal
Whilst I'm here though I'll reiterate what Maggie wrote about scooter riding in Corfu, WATCH OUT FOT THE POTHOLES!

Hi! Me again... :)

I'd like to create a sort of a plan for a vacation in Arillas.

Are there any places you would recommend for good local food?  :P

Places it's worth to see? Any favourite beaches?

Thanks!

bigbadjon

Hi spacestar....

You need not worry about the food in arillas i have tried several places and have been more than satisfied with all those that i have been in.

The food is great!!!

Just start at one end and move along 1 for each meal.......
